FAQs
Getting here
Yes. North Berwick station is a short walk from both homes, about 900m as the crow flies. Trains run direct to Edinburgh Waverley in around half an hour, and the line ends here, so there’s no changing.
The beach, harbour, shops and restaurants are all on foot, so you won’t need a car once you’re here.

Check-in & check-out
Check-in is from 4:00 pm and check-out is by 10:00 am.
Minimum stay
In July and August we let by the week, Saturday to Saturday. The rest of the year the minimum stay is usually three nights, and sometimes two in quieter periods.
The calendar on each home’s page shows exactly which dates you can book.
Booking both homes
Yes. The Grand and The Loft are the only two homes on their stair, so if you book both, the stair is yours. Together they sleep nine across five bedrooms, with a kitchen on each floor.
See group stays for the dates when both are free.
Twin beds in The Grand
Yes. The master bedroom’s super king bed can be made up as two singles on request. Just let us know when you book.
Parking
North Berwick introduced Controlled Parking Zones at the beginning of June, so much of the town centre is now pay-and-display.
The car parks closest to the apartment (Imperial and East Car Park) have charges that apply from 8:30am–6:00pm, with a maximum stay of 5 hours and no return within 90 minutes (payable at the meter or via the RingGo app). If you’re planning to be out with the car during the day, many guests find it’s simplest just to pay the maximum £5 daily charge.
Alternatively, we can arrange a 7-day parking permit for your stay for £30 if you’d prefer (subject to availability). The permit is valid in all on-street permit bays and saves you having to pay daily parking charges.
There is also free on-street parking outside the Controlled Parking Zones if you don’t mind dropping off your luggage and walking a short distance back from the car.
Please note that parking availability and enforcement is outside of our control. If you’d like to check the details yourself, the latest information is available on the East Lothian Council website.
Pets
Unfortunately, we do not allow guests to bring pets.
Children, cots & high chairs
Children and babies are very welcome.
We have a travel cot and a high chair available if you’re bringing little ones.
Please let us know before your arrival if you’d like these set up so everything is ready for you.
We also have children’s cutlery and crockery provided in the kitchen.
Towels & bed linen
Bed linen and bath towels are provided.
We don’t provide beach towels, so please remember to bring your own if you’re planning a day at the beach.
Golf
North Berwick Golf Club’s West Links is a few minutes’ walk away, and The Glen Golf Club is on the east side of town. Gullane, Muirfield and Longniddry are all within about 20 minutes’ drive, and Longniddry Golf Club gives our guests 10% off.
Our North Berwick guide has more on the local courses.
Shops & supermarkets
There’s a Co-op on the High Street, a few minutes’ walk away, and a larger Tesco on Tantallon Road on the east side of town.
Accessibility
Both homes are in a traditional tenement with no lift. The Grand is on the first floor, up one flight of stairs, and The Loft is on the second floor.
